My family and I have been ordering the "Fudge Gateau" for almost 20 years for most, if not all, of our birthday celebrations. By far the best chocolate cake you will ever eat. It's not featured on the menu for some reason, but if you ask for it by name, they know which one you're talking about. Please never ever get rid of this cake. I don't know what I'd do. hi and thank you to the baker who made the carrot cake with cream cheese icing and walnuts for my sons wedding at Pender Island this past weekend. the cake was absolutely delicious, so fresh and was a huge hit. you did a perfect job and the bride was thrilled when she saw it. you made it exactly the way she had envisioned. the size of the cake was just what we needed for 16 people thank you for your input and help with the decisions on the cake and the time you spent with me going over the details. will recommend you very highly to all my friends and family. I want to thank you so much for the lovely birthday cake that I was fortunate to win. I picked it up this morning, and as I was having guests for dinner the timing was perfect. Everyone loved the cake......especially me! It was truly delicious, and looked amazing too. December 2015 I am one of the newest members of the Hillcrest Bakery Family…and I do mean family! I believe this is what makes working here so enjoyable. I have worked in the food industry for over 30 years. I have been an employee, a co-worker, owner and the manager, but this is the first time I have ever felt like a part of a family at work. I truly feel that Sheana and David Moyer run this business with care, support and a genuine concern for their customers and staff. Like any family there can be miss-understandings and yes even conflict, but Sheana and David, like any good parents, listen to all sides to come to a resolution that helps heal and make us stronger as a family! I really must tell you how much my wife Sandy and I enjoyed our dinner tonight. Our dinners exceeded expectations. Tasty, generous portions ( each of us has leftovers for tomorrow or the next day) and the colors were attractive. Small green peas, sliced chunk carrots, and mashed potatoes, and very nice cranberries.. A generous serving of white and dark meat for sure. And the stuffing was excellent. Just properly spiced. Haven't tucked into the butter tarts yet. We certainly couldn't beat it. And clean up was about 5 to 10 minutes. A huge thank you for your work. Much appreciated.

I picked up the Baby Shower cookies that I had ordered.

I was expecting the standard rattles and booties that I had been shown when I came in originally. To my surprise you had created cookies to totally match the baby carriage on the napkins. I was so impressed with them, they are so cute I hate to hand them out.

Sheana and David, this is a little late, I’m afraid, but I wanted to write to tell you how much we enjoyed the turkey dinners your staff provided for our family at Thanksgiving. The food was delicious, the servings generous, and the cost was reasonable even though we missed the cutoff date for the discounted price. Our son ate his entire dinner, Clayton and I shared one portion (and had leftovers for a second meal), and sent the third container home with our son (giving my motherly concerns about bachelor diets great comfort)! Thanks so much for THE BEST TURKEY DINNER EVER!

We all had great compliments for the chefs/bakers; I especially liked the stuffing, as it was tasty but not overpoweringly seasoned ~ thank-you! Carrots were nicely sliced and tender; good gravy and a generous quantity; lovely cranberry sauce ~ looked homemade. Certainly a dinner to remember.

There is a bakery in our little town / They call it Hillcrest just walk on down / Sheana and David they run the ship / They are kind and their fair just don’t give them no lip / People walk in and we know them by name / They sit for a treat, that IS why they came / You walk in the store and the aroma is grand / It is like you have just entered fantasy land / Muffins and brownies Danish galore / Start at one end and walk through the store / Breads and scones not to mention the buns / Its ok to eat it all, just make sure you go for a run / Now to the deli side, what can i say / Homemade soup for you new everyday / We will make you a sandwich just for you / Guaranteed to your liking and fill you up too / The staff are like family, all so sweet / They work so hard to deliver the treats. Sheana, The cake was awesome!! You did an amazing job. It looked fantastic. My 2 year old was so shocked and thrilled to see her two friends Pooh and Elmo on the cake. I'm glad that I took the lasagna home from the bakery this week. Each bite had a surprising different flavor of veggie and cheese that came through,not hidden under tomato sauce. Because of the large serving, 3 meals were made up with a serving of greens on the side. It was a double winner for me and I would get it again. thanks, Jean

I just wanted to say that the Pina-Colada cake at my party it was a great success! Everyone enjoyed the rum flavor icing with the pineapple in the butter cream centre and the coconut on the outside. I have had your hazelnut, mocha and tiramisu cake. I can now add the pina-colada cake as another delicious success. Thank you so much for the great products you create, they are a pleasure to devour.

I just wanted to send a BIG THANK YOU for making our gorgeous cake for my husband’s 40th Birthday party. The cake was delicious but what I was absolutely WOWED by was the cake design. I requested a casino style cake and I could not believe the amount of work and detail that went into this cake. Your cake had more detail in it that my own wedding cake that cost three times as much. The White Rock Fire Fighter’s Charity Association would like to thank Hillcrest Bakery for their continuous support in sponsoring our annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa. For the past six years, Hillcrest Bakery has provided us with a generous donation of a gingerbread house kit, baked and ready to decorate. The gingerbread house is always an exciting part of our event. Not only does it go home with a lucky raffle winner, but it also helps us raise thousands of dollars! Hillcrest Bakery is by far my favourite bakery in White Rock/South Surrey. It reminds me of the era of great bakeries from my childhood when we visited Vancouver. It has many of the favourites that you rarely see at bakeries these days such as Vanilla Squares (with oodles of cream and a so sweet icing); or the “real” Nanaimo Bars (not the Costco kind- which are good – but these are exceptional) or my favourite is the date turnover in an oatmeal cookie. But best best best of all is the macaroon chocolate mound! It is super fresh coconut mounds dipped in chocolate – they make it better than any place I recall and I must ration myself. When I found this bakery (long ago), it re-booted a little piece of my memory of what bakeries used to be like and why I love them so! There is nothing better than a good old, fashioned bakery.
